🙋🏻‍♂️ FAQ

No insurance talk here. Just simple answers to the most common questions.

How does Wedly work? When do I get a refund? Do I need an expert? Spoiler: no.

But here we’ll tell you everything properly ❤️

It’s insurance, yes. But it’s different from what you’re used to: it’s parametric insurance.

It protects your wedding in case of rain and works incredibly simply: if during the hours you’ve chosen (Monitored Period) it rains at least the minimum amount you’ve set (2mm, 5mm, or 10mm), you’ll automatically be reimbursed (70% of the insured amount).

No forms, no experts. Just objective data and clarity.

This is an insurance policy where everything is decided in advance: when it kicks in, how much it pays, and under what conditions.
It activates automatically when a measurable and objective event occurs: in this case, the amount of rain.

When the rainfall reaches or exceeds the selected amount during the selected hours (Monitored Period), you receive the pre-established compensation (70% of the expenses you wish to protect).

You don’t have to present any documents to prove that your wedding has been ruined: everything is pre-established, transparent, and automatic.

In traditional insurance, the compensation amount depends on the damage assessment.

An expert is required, along with detailed documentation and, sometimes, even a technical appraisal.
And the final reimbursement can vary.
With Wedly, however, everything is decided in advance, and you know right away what needs to happen to get the compensation: how much rain is needed and when it needs to fall to get the compensation, which you know right away, down to the last cent.

No unforeseen events, no nasty surprises.

Wedly is the innovative platform that allows you to create this customized policy.
We’re not an insurance company: we’re intermediaries.

Translated? We help you understand, choose, and activate the
right coverage for your wedding.

We distribute the policy and make everything easy to use and understand.
From the simulation to the contract, we’ll guide you step by step.

We leave the technical side to the insurers.
You only need the essentials.

The policy is issued by an authorized insurance agency, and is produced and guaranteed by REVO Insurance, an insurance company specializing in parametric coverage.

Payment comes directly from the insurance company.
You don’t have to do anything: when the conditions set out in the policy are met, you’re reimbursed. Period.

No.
Wedly is a platform created by us, insurance brokers, to help you easily protect your wedding.
The policy is provided by REVO Insurance, but you build it with us. In just a few clicks, and just the way you want.

Before subscribing, carefully read the documentation that will be provided to you following the quotation.

The mix of parameters you choose in the simulation.
Each choice affects how likely it is to reach the threshold that triggers reimbursement.

Here are the parameters that influence this:

Date and location: some places and seasons are more or less rainy than others
Time of day: the longer it is, the more time the rain has to accumulate
Threshold in mm: lower thresholds are more easily reached/exceeded
Insured budget: represents the expenses you want to protect in the event of rain; the higher it is, the higher the premium

No parameter is right or wrong: you decide, depending on your needs, and you can see how the premium changes in real time.

Because the premium changes depending on the parameters you indicate and choose. Depending on how likely it is that it will rain enough to qualify for compensation, the premium increases or decreases.

There’s no fixed price: the coverage adapts to you.

It’s a bit like a custom-made suit: even a small change changes the final result.
Reducing or increasing the hours (Monitored Period), changing the threshold, or moving the date can make reaching the threshold more or less likely.
And this is reflected in the premium. Every coverage is tailor-made. And every detail counts.

It’s the easiest way to instantly find out how much the policy would cost you.
Enter your wedding information and choose your coverage terms: in just a few seconds, you’ll get a customized price for your wedding, without registering or obligation.
Perfect for getting an idea, testing different combinations, and finding the right mix for you.

When we talk about millimeters of rain, we’re not making anything up: we’re following the official definitions used by the Italian Air Force (Weather Glossary).

Here’s what they mean:

2 mm/h → light rain
5 mm/h → moderate rain
10 mm/h → heavy rain

Example: if it rains 1 mm/h for 5 hours, you’ve reached 5 mm. And if that was the threshold you chose… boom! Refund active.

💧 Table 1 – 2 mm of rain

Duration What happens
1 hour
Light drizzle. The pavement is wet, but no puddles. Guests outside are holding out, but everything remains damp.
5 hours
Continuous drizzle. Chairs, tables, and lawn always wet. The atmosphere is cooler, requiring covering the displays.
9 hours
Imperceptible but constant drizzle. Humidity everywhere. Outdoor location difficult to manage without protection.

🌦️ Table 2 – 5 mm of rain

Duration What happens
1 hour
Moderate rain. Puddles on the walkways. Guests’ makeup and hair are at risk.
5 hours
Constant rain. Soaked carpets, buffet to be moved, outdoor party compromised. Plan B needed.
9 hours
Light but interminable rain. Muddy lawn, guests crowded under tents and porches.

⛈️ Table 3 – 10 mm of rain

Duration What happens
1 hour
Heavy downpour. Umbrellas everywhere, wet clothes, impossible to stay outside.
5 hours
Heavy, steady rain. Everything has to be moved indoors: buffet, reception, music.
9 hours
A day of uninterrupted rain. The outdoor location becomes unusable, compromising the atmosphere.

The coverage adapts to how you’ve organized your
wedding.

If 2 mm of rain would already be a problem, it makes more sense to maintain that threshold and perhaps reduce the hours of coverage to only the most sensitive moments—like the outdoor reception or photos in the garden.
Or you can lower the insured amount, protecting only the most at-risk expenses.

The perfect balance is what makes sense for you.
The one that truly protects your wedding, without waste or sacrifices.

The first step is to ask yourself: “How much rain would really ruin my wedding?”

Sometimes, just a few drops at the wrong time can ruin the reception and the atmosphere… 2 mm makes a lot of sense in this case.

Think about getting married on the beach or without a “Plan B.”

Other times, however, it’s better to choose a threshold of 10 mm.

It makes sense for those getting married in particularly rainy periods or places, or for those who only want protection in the event of a storm.

Because, for the same compensation, 2 mm would increase the premium too much.

5 mm is perfect for couples who want to protect their wedding in the event of rain or a storm but who wouldn’t be damaged by a light shower.

If the rain doesn’t affect any expenses, this policy isn’t necessary for you.

It depends on how your wedding is organized.

Because it’s a necessary step.

We need it to send you the policy documents to read, sign, and complete the process with an OTP code.

Everything clear, everything traceable—and all with a simple email.

Because when you take out insurance, you set the rules right from the start: where, when, how much rain, for how many hours, and how much you’re entitled to.

These rules are written down in black and white and don’t change.
On your wedding day, an independent system monitors the weather data: when the conditions are met, the compensation kicks in automatically.

No requests, no forms, no waiting.

It’s 70% of your insured expenses.
Simple. Clear. Transparent.

No, and here lies the real turning point.
There’s no need for someone to come and “assess the damage,” because the damage is already estimated from the outset.

When the rainfall reaches/exceeds the threshold you selected and the Oracle certifies it, we’ll send you an email asking you to confirm your IBAN so you can receive the compensation you’re entitled to.

No, unless you confirm the IBAN you’d like to receive the refund with.
Just follow the instructions in the email: no application to fill out, no form to download.

Once you confirm your IBAN, we’ll send you the refund within 5 business days.
If for technical reasons we need to use the Backup Oracle, it can take up to 10 business days.
But in most cases… the transfer arrives in a flash!

The policy is based on blockchain, smart contracts, and certified data.

Blockchain is a secure and transparent digital system where everything is recorded in a traceable manner.

The smart contract is an automatic contract: when the established
conditions are met, it activates automatically.
It is based on official weather data certified by an independent third-party body, the Oracle (RadarMeteo).
When the threshold is reached/exceeded, the system detects it and the reimbursement is automatically initiated.

Invisible technology, concrete results.

The refund is triggered, that’s all.
You don’t have to do anything: no expert required, we just need your IBAN.

The system automatically recognizes that the threshold has been reached/exceeded, within the hours you specified, and the payment is automatically initiated.

This is the total amount of rain expected to fall during the time interval you’ve chosen (Monitored Period).
How does it work? Drop by drop, the rainfall adds up.
When it reaches or exceeds the value (expressed in millimeters) you’ve set, reimbursement is automatically triggered.
In practice: the lower the threshold, the more likely it is to be reached, given the same number of monitored hours.

With Oracle, the automatic system that checks if it rains enough to activate your policy.

It uses satellite data, weather station aggregators, and mathematical models to know how much rain has fallen, exactly where and when you choose.
It’s the same technology also used by public bodies and the Civil Protection Department.
Reliable, impartial data. And when the threshold is exceeded, reimbursement starts. Automatically.

A third-party organization that measures, certifies, and reports exactly how much rain has fallen, at the exact spot where you’re getting married.
It’s this organization that triggers the reimbursement: objectively, automatically, and independently.

It’s a highly reliable Italian company that collects certified weather data.
Thanks to their network of weather radars, automatic rain gauges, satellite data, and mathematical model integration, we know with pinpoint accuracy how much rain has fallen and when.

This is the time you’ve decided to cover: for example, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Rainfall is measured only during those hours.
If the chosen threshold is reached or exceeded during those hours, compensation is paid.
You choose it based on your wedding schedule. That’s what matters.

It only matters how much rain falls during the “Monitored Period.”
It can all fall in 15 minutes or slowly over 9 hours: if the amount exceeds the threshold you selected, the policy is activated.

We don’t decide, the Company doesn’t.
The Oracle takes care of it: an independent, certified, and precise system that measures rainfall using weather radar, satellite data, and official sensors.
So, everything is objective, impartial, and secure.
Is it raining enough? Check: the refund is yours, no questions asked or questions asked.

There’s a Plan B, always automatic.
If RadarMeteo fails to collect the data, ERA5 comes into play: the European Union’s official weather database. Even then, certified data decides.
Never an opinion.

The policy doesn’t activate. No refund.
But you choose that threshold: you can decide when rain really becomes a problem for you.

Yes, you’ll receive it by email a few days after the wedding.
It will tell you whether the threshold has been exceeded or not.
It’s a snapshot of your sky.

Your wedding expenses ruined by rain: outdoor catering, damaged flowers, live music in the garden, outdoor decorations, etc.
Everything you paid for that rain could ruin.
Additionally, you can also cover the cost of renting a marquee, if available as an alternative to protect
your event guests from the rain.

Absolutely.
Religious, civil, or symbolic: if you’ve organized an event that could be compromised by rain, you’re in the right place. It’s the organization that counts, not the ritual.

Yes, and thank goodness.
Because renting a marquee is one of those costs you don’t want to incur, but can’t risk missing.
It’s an expense you make to avoid ruining your wedding, even if you hope to never see it erected.
With Wedly, if it rains enough to reach or exceed the threshold, 70% of the cost you insured is automatically reimbursed.

Rain? Good. No rain? Better.

Try to think about everything you’ve planned so far: months of preparation, money spent, dreams drawn.
Now ask yourself: “If it rains, do I just want wet memories… or a refund that at least saves the investment?
Wedly can’t stop the rain. But it can give you a refund and save you the regret of not having thought of it sooner.

Only rain.
No hail, wind, heat, snow, or emotional tsunamis.

Yes, but it works in a new way!
You don’t need an expert: everything is established in advance. You already know how much you’ll receive, what needs to happen, and when it will be activated.
A different way of compensating, much simpler and more transparent, based on a pre-established damage estimate.

No.
If a guest slips or breaks something at the venue, they are not covered.

This policy is only designed to cover expenses you have incurred, not any damage to suppliers, guests, or facilities.

No, and that’s exactly what’s new.
To receive compensation, it simply needs to rain at least the minimum amount you’ve chosen (e.g., 2mm) within the selected hours (e.g., from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM). Period.

To truly protect your wedding, you must activate the policy within 15 days of the date.
This means: a confirmed quote, signed documents, and payment made.
After that, you can’t: the weather would be too predictable… and we want to offer you only true protection!

Yes, it’s possible.
Just enter the correct information about the couple and the event.
A practical, unconventional gift… and much more useful than a cutlery set.

Because the policy is designed to cover risk, not a certainty.
If you get too close to the date, the weather becomes increasingly reliable, and then the coverage would lose its meaning.
That’s why we close everything at least 15 days in advance: to protect you in the most effective way.

Until you confirm it, you can change anything you want: date, time, threshold, or the insured budget.
Remember that you can activate the coverage no later than 15 days before the event.

Any changes or cancellation requests must be made at least 15 days before the wedding day. We cannot process them beyond this time.
Any changes must be requested promptly to allow us to process them promptly. Simply email assicurazioni@wedly.it.
In the event of cancellation within 15 days, the premium paid, net of taxes, can be refunded.
(21.25% of the final premium)

Once issued, the policy cannot be changed.
But if you’re still within the deadline (at least 15 days before the date), you can cancel it and apply for a new one.
If you have any changes to your plans, act immediately—this way, you don’t risk being left uncovered.

The policy covers exactly the information you choose: date, location, and time of the event, etc.
It protects what you specify, with no surprises.
The Oracle will only verify the conditions recorded in the contract.
Therefore, we recommend checking everything carefully before confirming: it really only takes a few seconds!
Confirming the correct information is the easiest way to guarantee a refund, if needed.

The policy is based on what you declare: where you’re getting married, how much you’re spending, what type of event you’re organizing…
If you omit something relevant or don’t tell the truth, you could jeopardize everything: the compensation could be reduced,
rejected, or the policy could be canceled.
In short: false or incomplete statements = risk of receiving nothing.
Have doubts? Contact us before confirming: it’s better to clarify them now than to have to explain them later.
